Service
Laser rust removal is a cost-effective and greener alternative to manual and chemical cleaning methods — without altering the integrity of the metal itself.
Non-Contact Metal Cleaning
Rust, mill scale, oxide, old coatings — laser ablation removes them without touching the metal beneath. The beam targets the contamination, not the substrate. What you get back is clean, ready-to-weld or ready-to-coat metal at its original dimensions and surface integrity.
No profiling. No substrate removal. No chemicals to dispose of. For fabricators who need pre-weld prep, or homeowners with structural steel that's been sitting outside for a decade, the result is the same.
Laser vs Alternatives
Laser Ablation
The laser removes only the contamination — rust, scale, oxide, coating. The metal surface itself is unchanged. Critical for thin-wall tubing, precision components, or anywhere dimensional tolerance matters.
Sandblasting
Sandblasting is effective but aggressive. It profiles the metal surface, removes a measurable amount of base material, and creates large volumes of contaminated media. Not suitable for precision parts or thin-wall material.
Chemical Rust Removal
Phosphoric acid and chemical converters require soak time, generate hazardous liquid waste, and don't work uniformly on heavy oxidation. Disposal costs add up fast on commercial volumes.

For Fabricators and Industrial Shops
Fabrication shops and metal workers deal with dirty, rusty incoming stock every day. Sandblasting requires setup, containment, and cleanup. Chemical cleaning means PPE, disposal, and wait time. Laser cleaning fits into a shop workflow without any of that overhead.
We can work on a scheduled basis — weekly or bi-weekly visits to handle accumulating material — or on-call for specific jobs. Maine has a substantial manufacturing and defense supply base, and any operation doing pre-weld prep or surface treatment is a potential fit.
